I had the pleasure of photographing Mike and Joohee’s wedding at the lovely Hotel 1000. It was a perfect day for a wedding, sunny but not too hot! Mike and Joohee are two of the nicest people you will ever meet and I had been looking forward to their wedding for quite some time. I also was excited because I got to work with the lovely Ellen from Serenity Weddings. She is a fabulous Seattle area wedding planner. Not only that, I also had the chance to work with the amazing Edit1Media. They are some of Seattle’s finest videographers. They do an amazing same-day edit that they show at the reception. It was awesome and you can watch it at the bottom of this post! For portraits we headed to the Seattle library, which was a new place for me. I loved shooting there and it was so much fun! Then we met the bridal party down at the waterfront and had fun taking photos there. It was a great day of celebration and I was so honored to be a part of it! Thanks to my awesome second shooter Melissa Fenno for helping me out as well. Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Last weekend I had the honor of photographing Trevor and Jane’s amazing wedding. First of all, The Center for Urban Horticulture is such a fabulous venue. It is so beautiful there, and we had a beautiful day to match. I had been looking forward to Trevor and Jane’s wedding because I love these two, and they have great style. I knew their wedding was going to be unique. Well, they totally exceeded my expectations. The details at this wedding were unreal. From the beautiful plants all the way down to the personalized M and M’s. It was such an enjoyable day and so much fun! I loved their first dance in which they performed the Tango to everyone’s surprise. They also made everyone laugh during the garter toss because Trevor had the garter on. Everything they did was unique and suited them perfectly. I had a lot of fun shooting portraits with them as well. I especially love the ones we did at the end of the evening in the high grass. I also was lucky enough to have Saskia M second shooting with me. Thanks for everything Saskia! Here are some of my favorites from the day.
If you have been reading my blog for a while now, you may remember seeing this cutey patootie Max a few months ago. Max turned one last week, and Jordan and Amy wanted to get together and do some fun family portraits. We had a great time at the Sculpture Park playing with Max and trying to get him to smile that adorable smile. He was a bit cranky after not getting a long enough nap, but we still managed to get some good smiles and laughs. I had a great time hanging out with this awesome family again. Here are a few of my favorite photos from our session.
Fran Kauffman - Jordan, Amy, and (of course) Max,
Amy, your Mom sent me this address to see your family. HOW Wonderful. What precious photos. It's wonderful to see such a happy, loving, family.
Fran Kauffman
My Mom was Arlene Rector...sister of Ray Rector.
Elizabeth - It is wonderful to see these photos and not only are they good of Max and Jordan but I think they are some of the best ever of Amy and of course as her mom that pleases me!! THANKS for a great job!!
Last weekend I was fortunate enough to photograph Joe and Susan’s wedding. I had been looking forward to their wedding for a long time as they were one of my first weddings I booked for this year. I met up with Susan at Pure Hair which is owned by my friend Melissa. We all had a great time chatting and hanging out while Susan finished getting ready. Then we went to Ray’s Boathouse to meet Joe for the first look and head to Golden Garden’s for some portraits. The weather was perfect for us there and we got some great photos! We went to a couple of other spots and met the bridal party at the Ballard Locks before heading back to Ray’s. It started raining on us as we got back, and I was glad we had gotten most of the photos taken earlier! They were great sports and we quickly took a few more photos in the rain with umbrellas. Luckily the ceremony and reception were all covered so the rain didn’t matter at all! It was a great ceremony and reception. They have a lot of friends and family that love them, and it was a wonderful evening. Here are some of my favorite photos from the day.
I am happy I was finally able to meet with Brian and Neele to take their engagement photos. They live in LA, and the last couple of times they have been here, it hasn’t worked out with our schedules. But they were here for the 4th of July weekend and we finally made it happen! I had such a good time. These two love to laugh and be silly and I had a great evening hanging out with them. We started our time at the EMP which I love. It’s been a couple of years since I have done an engagement session there and I forgot how fabulous it is! All the colors, textures and architecture make for great photos. Then we wandered around the Seattle Center to see what else we could find. We had some fun at the amusement park before heading over to the Sculpture Park. We made it JUST in time for sunset. Brian really wanted sunset photos on the water so I’m happy we made it. I’m really looking forward to their wedding in September. They are SO fun to photograph and as you can see, pretty easy on the eyes! Here are a few from our session.
I had the pleasure of heading to Eastern Washington for the wedding of Tyler and Licia. I had never been to Cave B, but had heard only good things about it. I looked at a lot of photos online, but none of them did justice to the beauty of this place. On a scale of one to ten for beautiful wedding locations, this one scores a ten. The day was perfect in every way except for the fact that one of my two cameras broke about an hour into the day. That was a little stressful, but I’m thankful I have two cameras as well as the always amazing Saskia M Photography second shooting with me. It was such a fun day and such a dream to shoot portraits there. It’s been so hard to choose which ones to show on the blog. It was also fun to see some familiar faces. I had met Tyler and Licia at a wedding I shot this past winter, and the groom from that wedding was one of Tyler’s groomsmen. I could not have asked for a better day! I apologize for the long post, but it was really hard to choose. And thanks again to Saskia for driving over and shooting with me. It’s always more enjoyable when I have her next to me!
This past Saturday was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. Everything about the day was pretty near perfect and I am SO excited about the photos. Stay tuned for more soon!
A couple of weeks ago Matt and Debra drove up from Eugene, OR so that we could do an engagement session! They recently moved there from Seattle because Matt got a job there. So I was glad they were able to find the time to drive up so we could take photos and hang out. We had an amazing day to wander around Georgetown. I’ve said it before, I love the energy of Georgetown and love shooting there. We even snuck into a warehouse and I love the photos we got inside. I had a great time spending the afternoon with these two, and I’m SO looking forward to their wedding. After Georgetown we headed over to the Sculpture Park for a few more photos. The sun was getting low and the light was gorgeous there. It was pretty much a perfect afternoon! Here are some of my faves from our day.
I had so much fun at Alex and Tatiana’s wedding. I had been pretty sick during the week, so I was a little worried about having enough energy to get through the day. It’s amazing what adrenaline can do because I didn’t feel tired at any point during the day. Until I got home that is and crashed for 12 hours! This wedding was such a fun experience for me. Everyone spoke Romanian (except for me). All of the ceremony and reception were in Romanian so I never really knew what was going on! Alex and Tatiana are so lovely, and you can tell they are very in love. I had a great time at Alki beach taking portraits with them and their bridal party. It was such a perfect day and you could not have asked for better weather. There are so many great photos of them. It was super hard to narrow them down for the blog! Here are a few of my favorites.
I met Jeff and Brina at Golden Gardens for our engagement session. They are the nicest couple ever. They also win the award for my tallest couple ever!! Good thing for my step stool I always have with me. The weather was a bit iffy (suprise suprise) but it actually ended up being a pretty nice afternoon. And once again, the weather scared everyone away so we pretty much had Golden Gardens to ourselves. After the beach, we headed over to the Locks. I haven’t been there since I was a kid, so it was a lot of fun! We even saw a few fish and a cute seal. These two are very clearly in love and I had a great time spending a few hours with them. Here are some of my favorites from our session.
